Good Sam Rallys

Has anyone attended these? There is one coming in Phoenix and I am attending - a first for me. Any info on the seminars and vendors would be appreciated. Also, do they give you plenty of room to park the Monty and pickup?
Thanks.

Tom & Gail, we attended a few this past summer. Generally there is enough room, but depending on where held (generally a fair grounds) power & water may be a problem. Lots of rigs drawing power from a small panel with a group of 15 amp duplex sockets, more to small vending booths than powering a bunch of RVs. And for water, you may need a few hundred feet of hose. We attended with other members of our Good Sam club, they can be fun and interesting, meeting other folks from other areas. Have fun

We have attended a few of these. I have never had a problem with power, but don't expect more than 30 amp. The ones we have attended had a place to fill your water tank, but no water hook ups. We had a good time at most of them and there are usually plenty of venders to extract some of your money for the "got to have it" stuff. Go enjoy yourself.

In Florida, we have 3 rally's a year.(Nov.-Feb.-Apr)For us it is getting harder and harder each hear to find a park big enough to handle all the people and they keep jacking the prices up and it is making it harder that way. Our next one is the last weekend in Feb. and first part of Mar. Check the Good Sams of Florida webb sight. We usually don't have any problem. We just adjust. Come and join us. We would like to have you. Check out the Games. Our Chapter runs them.

The Good Sam Rally here in Phoenix is the National Rally not a Samboree. We are going also but will be boondocking. I didn't pay any attention to the hook ups but it's at the Phoenix International Raceway which should have good hook ups. This is a huge event and their parking crew really does know what they are doing. So many vendors you can spend all kinds of money. Haven't checked recently on the website to see if the seminars are listed yet.

We have attended both the Escapees and Good Sam rallies. Both seem to be well organized with good assistance with parking. We always had full hook-ups. The seminars were informational with lots of vendors displaying their wares. It was great meeting other RVers and listening to their experiences and getting ideas about trips to take.

We did these early in our full timing experience and found the seminars very helpful in bringing up issues that we might not have thought about. I am not sure we will attend another because "we have been there and done that", but going at least one time was a winner for us.
