MaxxAir II vent cover installation question

I watched the video on installing a MaxxAir II. It appears that on the unhinged side, there are 2 clips to hold it in place. It looked like these could protrude a bit and when they rotate downward, could poke into the roof. Does anyone have any experience in this area?
Thanks.

We have one on our rig and have not had any issues with the pins poking any holes in the roof. It has been on there for about 1 1/2 years now.

I just went out and checked mine. On the unhinged side, there are brackets that screw onto the metal part of the vent. These brackets have a bolt that the threaded part sticks up. when the cover is closed it comes down and sits on top of this threaded part. Then a wing-nut type nut is screwed down to hold it closed.

So, no, it will not poke the roof.

I installed all 4 of mine, very easy to do.
