Selling Items on Craig's List
Most of you have heard of Craig's List. Al and I have found it to be very useful in our quest to downsize. We have sold quite a few things on there in the past year. Unlike e-bay, it's free and local. No shipping as people come and pick up the items. We have sold things from $50 to $400. Some items such as our leather sofa drew over 6 responses within an hour of posting. You will get better prices than at a garage sale.
Here is the web link.
www.craigslist.org
P.S. On the right you can click on your state and see if it is available in your area. It always best to post pictures with ad! You can post up to 4 pictures with each ad.

We sold a Ford ranger last month. Got a very good price for it. Sold it in less than 12 hours.

My sister in Colorado really likes the website. She and friends have sold so many things there. It's easy to do, especially if you only have 1 or 2 things and you don't want to run an ad or have enough for a yard sale. She and a friend are currently working on a "flip" house & she said they are going to try craigslist first when it's ready.

I've sold several things on Craig's list and have recommended it to my friends also. It is also a good way to find things you are interested in. I bought two scuba tanks on Craig's list and made 4 real nice wind chimes from them.

Wind chimes from scuba tanks??
That sounds interesting.
Can't quite picture it though.

While in Tucson, we found a nursery that had some HUGE windchimes made from old rusted oxygen or acetylene tanks. They were similar in appearance to these but about 3 ft tall and attached to a HEAVY framework. The sound was deep and rich and the cost was high !!

I got my Monty off of Craig's List. That is after I sold my Lance camper and fishing boat on there. Great place for buying and selling.

When we downsized to be able to fulltime, craigslist.org was invaluable. I found that cragislist.org made it easy to sell something without having to deal with the shipping issues.
Cash is nice tooooo.
I had so many people replying to the ads that I just ended up telling them that the first person to show up to my house with the money would get the item. If they were still interested, I would then send them directions to my house. A word of caution should be taken here, but I had no problems.
