Tow Capacity

We bought the four cylinder...wish we had gone with the 6. It's fine pulling the Monte to the TX coast because it's all downhill, but we struggle a bit on the return trip home. The salesman assured me it would tow the rig. I really like your set up with the RV barn and the storage barn...it looks vaguely familiar.

I would be worried about the luggage rack hitting in sharp turns.

About a year ago, we camped at Mounds State Park (Anderson, Indiana), which is only about 15 miles from our home. We stayed over 2 week-ends. Now, I tow the Monty with a 3500 dualy Diesel, so no problem with weights there.

After we got set up at the campground, we realized we'd forgotten a few things, and also decided we wanted to get firewood. Now, I split my own firewood at home, since we use wood heat all winter long, we have mountains of fire wood.

So, we headed home. Once home again, we realized we'd be doing a lot of running around, and our second vehicle, a Chevy Colorado would be easier on fuel, and easier to get around in. And we knew, before we broke camp the next week-end, we'd be returning home for something. So we decided to return back to the campground with the Colorado.

Well, the Colorado was at the campsite for the entire week. It also has a flip top cover, so no one can see the inside bed of the truck. I always backed the truck up in front of the Monty, and I will admit, it looked really odd .... that huge 41 foot fifth wheel and that little Colorado. The looks we got from people walking by was priceless! But ... not a single person said a word to us, or a concern about the trailer being overweight for the tow vehicle! Not a single person.

Ok on the flats, a little slow on the hills.

Wow even the building of choice looks familiar. Carport is 18 x 31 . Fit our 2014 Cougar 28RLS great but not so good on the 2021 Montana High Country 295RL. 12 weeks out on adding 10 ft to carport . Hope to have it done by end of July. March 2017 18 x 31 carport cost 4800.00 2021 10 ft extension 1800.00 . Material cost & labor shortage is excuse for delay & price.
