Traveling in VT?

I will be flying to Albany in June and renting a car and driving to Putney, VT ( just north of Brattleboro)

I plan to take route 7 East and then route 9 east to Brattleboro through the Green Mnt National Forest.

I am curious if anyone on the forum has taken this route and has any comments or opinions?

mp1897,

Thanks for your reply. I have driven to Putney from Hartford many times, but I decided to take a different route this time. Route 91 is not the most scenic route.

Yes, VT is a very beautiful place. I have skied on Mt Snow. Or sort of skied. [

My final destination will be Ludlow, VT for a few nights at the Echo Lake Inn for a wedding.

How are the elevations on route 9. This Florida flat lander wants to know?

The elevations aren't bad at all ... even for a flatlander! Slight climb to Hogback Mt. (half way between Bennington and Brattleboro on Rt. 9) but you will have no problems! That is a nice place to do an overlook.
