Awning binding
2022 Montana. Both awnings make noises upon retracting like the pivots/bushings in the arms are dry. I’ve tried silicon, lithium and WD40. I’ve washed them. Blew them with compressed air but nothing seems to help. Any ideas?

Mine so the same. I used wd40. Helped a bit. I've just gotten used to it. They've been in and out 200 times. Still working.

That’s what I’m thinking. My 2008 Montana worked great. Have had more issues with this one than we ever did with the ‘08.

Your 2008 had a manual awning. The electric models have shock absorbers. Dust gets on the rams and that is probably what you hear squeaking. Try a little lubricant (ATF, Jack oil or such) and see if that helps.

Also, PTFE Dry Lube will works great and does not attract dirt and dust like oil does.

Watch this video. It makes sense. Haylett RV became Bish RV. So, this is an older video, but it's still 100% relevant!

Ours stick while going out.
If we just hold down the button the tube goes out then the arms catch up and you feel a big jolt as the arms then take up the slack.
We have been doing what is shown in the video for a while now.
Push the button, let it go out 2'. Wait. Repeat until the arms catch up with the roller tube.
I lubricate the arms, gas struts AND inside the tube (motor, spring) with WD40. I tried Silicon (recommended by manufacturer) PTFE and Lithium but it does nothing for the gas struts.
I'm guessing I will eventually have to change the gas struts.

Wrong. The 2008 had power awnings as well. Extended and retracted much quicker.
