Fresh Water Holding Tank Use

I put 10 gallons in the tank today to test out the system. I used the power fill and placed the switch from fill to it's normal position. I turned on the pump and all the water flowed out from the water fill connection.

I put 10 more gallons in using the power fill and left the switch in the fill position and the pump runs constantly.

Question 1: Does the fill switch go back to normal or remain in the fill position?

Question 2: If in normal position what is causing the water to flow out and not remain in the system?

Question 3: If the switch remains in the fill position what could be the cause of the pump running constantly?

Thanks

After filling the tank, the valve must be returned to the normal position.
If water is flowing out of the city water connection, the check valve in the connector is leaking. You might have luck using a small screwdriver to probe inside that water inlet to seat the check valve so water does not come out.
Having the valve in the fill position opens the system to the tank so pressure can not build so the pump can shut off
