Sun Shade

Install this sun shade today to help block the sun that hit the DS from the west in the late afternoon.

We also have an end shade as ours sits N-S most of the summer. They are great at keeping the blasting sun reasonable. They also give a bit of added privacy.

It's in 2 sections. One, a 1-to 3 foot section depending on which one you buy stays attached to the roller tube via the second awining slot in that roller, the bottom 4 to 6 foot section zips on that permanent piece for added shading but needs to be removed for awning retracting (those figures are approximate but explained on the manufacturer's site). When we travel, that bottom section is seldom added unless we are staying more then a couple days or face West. The permanent section will usually provide just enough shading with the awning dipped.

One negative - if you camp in a very windy area, and the awning needs to be retracted at 0 -Dark Thirty, you need to remove that lower section which only takes a minute or two, but ....been there, done it!

Regardless, this was a great add on for our needs

Extent shade

I purchaseD a sunshade to add to the awning and with 4 tent poles and some rope you can extent the sunshade and angle it as needed based on the sun angle. Agree on a HC 380 To operate the awning the awning You need a ladder.

We got ours from Beasleys. They will make pretty much anything you want., within reason & have several colors to choose from. They even sent a matching bag to put the screen in for storage. You may have to call & leave a message, especially this time of year, but they will call you back. Great people. My dad has one of their screens as well.
