Trying to find where Keystone put our trailer

Well, we found the trailer! After calling the Keystone Montana factory we received conflicting stories as to where the trailer was. When we went to the dealership here in Grand Rapids, Michigan this past Friday, 3 days ago!@, they told us it had not arrived. Our dealership in Utah was being told that it was on hold waiting for chairs! I finally was able to reach the factory rep for Michigan who said the records showed the trailer had shipped on the 12th! A week ago! He called the dealership and they got on the phone calling the 5 transportation companies to see who shipped it and where it was. We then got a call from our Utah dealership saying the trailer would arrive Monday (yesterday)! In the meantime... Ken had been eyeing a trailer in the dealership lot (we are staying right across the street from it) that looked like it was outfitted with the full solar package we had ordered. The factory had said they don't build very many since it's so new (and expensive!) He thought it odd because the dealership said they had not seen one of the solar units yet! He got out his binoculars to confirm that it was indeed a full solar unit. So, he went over to the lot to look at the trailer and the Vin# matched the Vin# on our contract!!! He went in and told the Sales Manager that our trailer was actually out on the lot! Come to find out, it had been there for a week!!!!! Obviously someone(s) dropped the ball... big time! Those someones better pay for our $100 a day hotel for the past four days!
The good news is that we should be able to move in tonight after they prep and go through all the systems in the trailer. It IS a beautiful trailer! And we are excited to put the full solar to the test! We will be able to run both air conditioners with the solar!
We feel it was divine intervention that we got a hotel room with a view of the lot! ...And that Ken had brought his binoculars! Will send more pictures later. This has been almost as surreal as the Coronavirus. (Picture is view from our hotel room)

What a great story! I hope the unit makes up for the fiasco and that the factory built it correctly. Trust nothing, verify everything. And enjoy it.

HOLY CATS!! How big is this solar package if it can run TWO A/C's? That's 25ish amps or 3000 watts when they are both running, and that will drain a battery very quickly!!

I think that the inverter on our fridge is only a 1000 watt, and it will drain the battery in about 8 hours.

That's also a LOT of solar panels to even recharge that much battery power!!!

I obviously missed this announcement somewhere:

https://www.keystonerv.com/upper-nav...0&brandCode=MO

If I did the math right, it will power both A/C's at full amperage draw for around 20 hours. 510AH = 61200 WattHours. 61200WH/3000W = 20.4 hours, which is still a long time on battery power...

Yup! It is expensive but we mostly boondock and got tired of having the batteries ALWAYS running out at 3:00 in the morning!

Reaching President of Keystone

Anybody have knowledge of a way to contact Matt Zimmerman, the CEO of Keystone? We want to make sure he is aware of what happened with us in the delivery of our Montana and possibly stop the gaps in communication so others don't have to suffer like we did! (Who knows if he will even care!)

Maybe not that far out of line. I just did some quick math and I think I am in almost $10k for my 400W 300AH Lithium system. This one is much more capable.

Matt Zimmerman will be a very difficult person for the average owner to contact directly. Keystone is a VERY siloed company. Any communication sent by you to him will be short stopped quickly. It is a hunt and peck situation - start at Owner Relations (customer service) with communication directed to him and keep pecking up the chain. Your situation does need to addressed by someone in the upper ranks though.

Don't waste your time. They don't care. Supposedly Keystone folks lurk among our posts yet nothing changes. You will have a list of defects that shouldn't have left the factory. Fix them yourself and make this your last purchase from them. Once it is broke in you should have a unit that you'll enjoy in spite of purchase hangover. Many of us have experienced the same thing.

Two more lithium batteries!

One bit of good news! Thanks to Kowbra, we were able to contact the designers of the super solar package and will be meeting them at their facility to have them install two more lithium batteries. Also will have them go through the operation of the system as there were no instructions included! (?)

Looking forward to your review of the system, and how it performs, after you've had a chance to use it for a while!

I would guess you are way past the signing the dotted line and handing over the dough at the dealership. What azwiz was referring to is when you do the PDI and find things of issue, have them fixed by the dealership before you pay for it. Once you give a dealership your money, many times the urgency and need to fix your issues gets put way on the back burner.

not quite 510 AH needs to be multiplied by 12 V, not 120V...

Don’t you hate it when businesses don’t communicate with each other? When you bill them for your hotel bills, just tell them it’s your fee for doing their job for them.

What is the cost of two additional batteries. I called Dragonfly and they said I would have to contact Keystone as they have exclusive rights to the GC3 battery.
