Love this time of year

First tomato of the season. You just can't buy them in a store with this much meat in the middle. Or that taste this good. Eating a mater sandwich as I type.

Yep, you got it right! Bought some locally grown tomatoes at a coop store in sioux falls sd, beefsteak as well as chocolate tomatoes that were to die for. Little salt and pepper...yum, but bacon is not bad addition. Can't wait till we get to Oregon to the farm stands to stock up again. Here's to ya! John

Got to agree on the tomato, but the heat, humidity, ticks, mosquitos and all the rest you can keep.

If you have never ate out of your garden you don't know what good is. No tomatoes yet, next week on those. We will have squash and scalded lettuce tonight. If you ever ate triple sweet corn right out of the garden you would feed the corn from the super market to the hogs. I'm a country boy.

We don't get local stuff till after the 4th of July way up here. Farmers are just starting to plant now.

We bought a cherry tomato plant the end of March at a Home Depot in Foley, AL. Being from Kansas, not used to having tomatoes starting in April (we've been in the South all Spring). we've probably had 150 so far and they are delicious. Now back in the Midwest this week and people are just now getting stuff setting on. Awesome!!
