Could have been that sort of thing in the California bus crash. Someone coming across the median is one of my biggest hauling fears.

That happened in Iowa. Our local TV station also reported it. Guess you don't drop a pen while driving down the interstate! Did you check what that 18 wheeler was that it crossed infront of? It was a gas tanker!! KABOOM!!!

Although this was very bad and could have been worse, the tanker he almost hit was not a gas tanker. It was a bulk trailer used to transport dry items such as flour. Spent 20 years as a trucker and pulled them both.

Sorry Dave! The reporter here was wrong then on the bulk truck. They said the driver of the semi that crossed over had dropped a pen and bent over to pick it up and ........that's the rest of the story!

Got rear-ended some years ago by an 18 wheeler when slowed for construction on freeway. The driver told the highway patrol he was reaching down to pick up a bottle of water. More likely he was driving zoned out or sleeping.

Ok, my question is what was the driver doing that needed a pen while driving?
