Could be good if I was only 30-40 years old. Did you catch the 12 hour days and sounds like 7 days a week!!! I changed my mind. Maybe when I was 25-30 years old!

I actually filled out the application to find out more about it. Was interested in the eastern MT/western ND area work, but the work is in October. I lived in MT for many years and I know what can happen in October and I'm not interested in towing a FW thru it. Not interested in 12 hr days/nights, 7 days a week and at least 3 weeks work. Like twindman said, "if I was only 30-40 years old" or "25-30 years old". I changed my mind too.

We lived in Greeley CO for several years early 80's and again in early 90s.
The office was near some railroad tracks that the beet trucks and onion trucks had to cross in their routes. Produce was always bouncing off the trucks when they crossed the tracks at the fast speed they preferred to run.
I would always get out of my car and pick up spilled onions...never cared for the beets though.

They may need truck drivers. Some locations don't require a CDL.

Amazon Camperforce, competitive pay, multiple locations
My wife and I have participated in this program for two years. Three months work pays for nine months of travel.

I've been studying this "thing" out, watched some of the YouTube videos, searched their website. It sounds very interesting. I asked my wife about it. She said, if I really wanted to do this then go ahead and go for it. But she also said, just remember, YOU are the one working!
3 week, long days, no idea what the actual job will be or what the responsibilities, and at my age now makes this opportunity absolutely twist and turn in my head.
I am no stranger to hard work, long days, and working days on end. I'm no stranger to running low on sleep, meeting deadlines and quotas, and working the body till I almost keel over. (but not all of this at the same time).
I think my age may be against me. Although I am in relatively good health and shape, I'm not so sure about my "endurance" for the long hall any more. Even driving from one campground to another campground, my travel time on the road now seems to focus on about only 4 hours of actually driving a day. So, putting in a 12 hour or longer day just might take too much toll on me.
I guess I'll pass on this.... as enticing as it sounds. I'm doing a campground host this year. I think that's probably more my speed... setting my own pace, not the pace of someone else meeting a deadline!
Thank-you for the offer. It's still very enticing. I just don't think I can physically do it now. Sheesh getting old sucks!

You mentioned "age" as a restriction and that camp "hosting" might be more your speed. Here's a company that hires retirees for camp hosting positions.

Get a copy of the book "Nomadland" It's about a homeless person living in an RV as she travels the country looking for employment. (It's actually a pretty good easy read) One of the jobs she took was the beet harvest in ND. Her description of the work was eye opening.

I live in SE ND and am all too familiar with the fall beet harvest run.
I have never participated in it (I already drive way too many miles in a truck for my regular job) but I am a farmer at heart and have worked with a family farm that has grown to 5500 acres over the last 30+ years.
We run corn and soybeans but still need 8 - 10 people in the fall for harvest, but we shut down at night, albeit sometimes late. We need truck drivers (tractor trailer). No CDL is required in either ND or MN for farm trucks... I never really quite understood that, as well as drivers for heavy farm equipment, mostly for tillage work.
Last fall we had one guy, who is a local but had a long drive pull his small camper out to the farm to stay in for a couple of weeks through harvest. It worked well for him... shower and washer/dryer facilities in the farm shop, as well as a full kitchen in the break room.
I am going to suggest to the owner that he set something up with a work camping site next season.

I feel the same. When I think I want to take a job for a bit or start another business my wife always says: “Go ahead! I have my passport and know how to use it.”
That shuts me up pretty quick!
