Last year we left the land of Cheese Heads "the frozen tundra" the first week of October, we got back to the stick house the last week of May. As soon as we got home we listed the house and sold all our "Stuff". 7 months for our first trip was so much fun we decided to go fulltime. But we needed a bigger rig for us and our two hundred pound labs. So we ordered our new Big Sky in July hoping to have it in Sept and be on the road in Oct. Didn't happen, it didn't show till 26 Oct so we gon on the road the first week of Nov and been having a blast since. As soon as the stick house sells we will plan our Alaska trip. In the mean time we will enjoy the lower 48. Merry Christmas... Dave and Betsy

Like Stiles, we have a "home base", an rv park in Independence, MO, a suburb of Kansas City. Our children are all in that general area. we are there from late June to late July, for two granddaughter birthdays, and are back there again prior to November 9th for another granddaughter birthday. In the past we've stayed there until after Christmas. This year we left after Thanksgiving. So, we are gone from our home base from late Nov (or late Dec) until late June and again from late July until early November. So, that's one "trip" of either 6 or 7 months and another of a bit over 3 months.

We are in our Montana about 9 months out of the year. Our homebase is Central Oregon, although we just took on a mail forwarding agent in Tillamook (OR) so we could get our mail forwarded whether we are at home for a month or on the road for a month (or more). We are touring the Southwest this Winter, so will be on the road until the end of May - and left first of November (7 months). We have neighbors and friends watching our house, and a company contracted to do snow removal..We are usually at home or at least in Oregon during the Summer months to catch up on everything we need to deal with, routine medical, Veterinary visits/shots, etc. Licensing issues, whatever might be needed. When the housing market improves, we will actually fulltime for a period of time, but will purchase something, some place.

Our trips are dependent on a number of factors. Last year we were at our stick home for 45 days by the end of July and the longest stay was 11 days. We are definetly at the stick home for about two weeks in May and again two weeks in June. Another 3 weeks in August/September and months of November & December. Being both retired we have no real time constaints. Our 5 week trip to Alaska was only 5 weeks, but was because of MIL at 77 YO with us and commitments back home didn't allow a longer trip. I look forward to at least 3 months which is the minimum.
