Nightstands

I know there are some creative people out there after spending a few weeks on the forum so I’m looking for ideas on building a night stand for both sides of the bed. One of the first things we did was to get rid of the cheap king mattress for a nice queen. That left 7 to 8 inches on both sides.

Has anyone built a night stand for the space? Ideally I would take the existing shelf bolted to the wall out and replace it with a stand at the bed height with maybe a pull out drawer. I’m pretty handy especially it I have a picture.

Appreciate pictures of existing solutions!

2021 331RL and loving it!

Scott

I bought two under couch tables from Wayfair. Great if company comes buy because they fit over the couch an can be easily moved around as needed.

So you are looking for a night stand/ base cabinet that is 8” wide, maybe with open shelves? I wonder if IKEA has such a thing? It sounds like you should build it custom. DW loves decorative pillows. That space below the skinny shelf is where I stuff them for the night. I would really miss that area if I filed it with a night stand. Also I would study it close to make sure the skinny night stand would not make it more difficult to change sheets and make up the bed - which is my job!

That funny, we just went from a queen to a king. Had to extend the bed platform.

I took out the wood shelves and got these on amazon.

I've since taken down the factory curtains and just made my own curtains to size so they wouldn't hang below since this is taller.

Here is the newer pic with the curtains. I just found it on my phone,

The pull down shades are just behind the curtains I made so you can still block some light if you want.

Sure thing! There is a few sellers that sell them under different names so check around for best price and they sell different colors.

I didn't put the feet on mine to lower them a bit more and it helps if you have a really thick mattress. I had an 8" memory foam and they were taller so I added a mattress topper and that lifted it up to where it was level with them.

Nite stand or side shelf

We just bought a 3121 with a king bed and the little shelf up at the headboard is to small for my c-pap machine and was wondering if anybody has mounted a folding shelf on left side of the bed on the wall that will fold tight enough to miss the side . And if so where did u get it . Thanks
