Why does that front compartment have those slots? Even for a genset, can't see their use. I just used aluminum foil tape then put some Home Depot indoor/outdoor carpeting over that floor as well as the basement floor so stuff wont slide around.
I really like the indoor/outdoor carpet idea for the reason you stated. Might even try to wrap it up the sides a few inches to help protect stuff that might be bouncing around in there.

That would be in addition to a plywood shelf or two to organize some things better suited for shelf environment. The totes full of the wife's crafts would ride their nicely.

Our solar gear will live there. what's left will be storage above and in a newly reconfigured battery/hydraulic compartment.

I had a similar concept although it's not as pretty - if you are carrying LP of some form in there - give some thought to floor vents. LP is heavier than air, if it leaks - better to let it drain out. A pool of LP is dangerous!
I put in a a wooded rack to hold Gas Grill and also griddle, LP bottle, gas lantern/bottle. Put the LP tank in plastic milk crate, less movement.

No propane will be stored in there, mostly utility stuff. I believe the slots were in case fuel leaked out. Thought about the carpet but the rubber is much more slip resistant.HD has a 24" x 8' roll for 20 bucks and glues down with contact cement.

My understanding is the slots in the bottom are the place to cut out for a genset!! Looked about the right size. IMO. Mine has a genset and I will miss the storage

Just a thought for the OP. If your trailer was prepped for a genset you probably have a electrical connection in the front where the genset would tap into that goes to a transfer switch. Now is a good time to install a front 50A plug for future use. Like when you run the generator in the truck bed and don't want to run an extension all the way to the back, or when the electrical post is in the front of the campsite and you don't have enough extension to get to the back.

That is a great idea! Yes it is wired for a generator and my plan is to install a gen set in the truck bed by next year.

Run the generator extension cord thru the kingpin and into the new 50A plug and you can run the A/C while traveling in the summer and be cool when you setup camp.

I'm all over this great idea! Really stupid they put the main plug on the very tail of the unit anyway.....

I hope I am wrong, but I looked quick at the junction box for the generator connection & it looked like 10ga wire. If thats the case it would only be good for 30 amps. I will investigate further tomorrow, maybe I am missing something.

Very nice. Quality workmanship and good utilization of the space. We are not traveling/towing our new MHC for about two years and using it in our campground (annual members), so just using the space as general storage.

What are the specs of the optional generator?

Well I finally got to look at the junction box for the generator connection, it says 30 amps max! If you look at Keystones advertisement they say optional 5.5 kw generator which is 50 amps. Glad I didn't order the plug set yet, now I need to get to the bottom of this. I knew when I saw 10 ga wire something didn't make sense.

We did not have the generator as we knew we would not be boondocking. We do have a 3K generator in the back of the truck. We have used it maybe 4 times over 13 years like at Quartzsite. We have used it more in our driveway when we lost power during a storm.

We also installed shelves and the compartment holds a lot of stuff.

The only thing I keep up front in addition to the batteries is the sewer equipment. Nothing in the passthrough except a stack of leggos if ever needed for leveling. So much rear storage in the 3761FL additional storage is not needed. Even have extra space in the rear.
