THANKS, you may have saved my dear hubbie's life! After several severe headbumps I can really appreciate this. Will let you know how it goes to get it in our 3790.

Thanks for sharing. Now I need to check our rig to see if we can do something similar. Tried self closing hinges but they weren’t strong enough. This might be the trick.

I love this idea! I think this darn door over the switches is second in frequency of use only to the one the booze hides behind.. I’m actually considering just taking the damn thing off..

Been in this camper full time for 6 weeks now and I have hit my head on the control cabinet door twice - but far worse - left it open and DW hit her head on the darn thing three times this week -which was not a good thing. Luckily the gun was not loaded and I lived to tell this story.

I needed an immediate fix. The cabinet slider idea will not work in my unit due to the half bath door left of the control cabinet. I went to Home Depot and found a Door and Window alarm by Defiant for $9.99. Mounted it while ago. It makes a god-awful noise when the cabinet door is opened and keeps making the noise until the door is closed. It is a sufficiently annoying noise to remind me to close the door. I will not be leaving the door open any more. I will not leave the cabinet door open anymore. I will not leave the cabinet door open anymore. I will not leave the cabinet door open anymore.

There has to be an Aggie joke in here somewhere.

Great now my better half wants one - great idea and great job. Montana should pay you for the idea. I know I have bumps from hitting my head and lumps from the tongue lashing I get from DW when I leave it open.

I had a couple hours and some scrap materials, this is what I came up with.
I hope DW didn’t want the flagplole in the corner of the garage..😬
I made the weight from a piece of tubing and some melted wheel weights, the cord is a Harley Trunk lid wire. The weight slides inside the aluminum tube (from the flagpole) and closes the door. You cannot leave it open.
I don’t have YouTube and MOC won’t accept a video file so you guys will have to use your imaginations and make the noises yourself.😏
Picture is sideways but it’s the only way it’ll fit. The door closes just hard enough to engage the roller catch.

My Wife just bumped her forehead last week.
It was bleeding so bad that we need to see a doctor to stich it.

KEYSTONE: this is impossible as a solution. You have to be able to do better.

crazy thing the doctor stated that he has this type of injury quite often - unbelievable...

It is even worse when your wife bangs her head, but YOU were the one who left the door open. Trust me.

I know exactly what you mean
In this case I was lucky when also lucky does not fit in this context

I will see how I fix that - maybe remove the door until we can work on it.

Headache

Great idea. We just got home from our first trip with our 3791 and both the wife and myself wacked our heads a couple of times. She was not a happy camper . I will definitly be doing this mod.

Put a 10” spring from Lowe’s. Pulls door shut. A little awkward to get to switches sometimes but cheap and quick solution. Have not bumped my head since I installed it

What exact 10" spring did you find at Lowes? Searching the internet on Lowes and not sure what to buy. Thanks,
