I recently installed a Rearview Camera on my truck which I am using for hitching as well to view the front of the coach and hitch while underway. The camera is located on the truck license plate. I am going to add another camera to the rear of the coach to be used as a rear view mirror. Currently I cannot see what is directly behind the coach.

Here is a link to the installation:

Glenn, you may want to add this to the links under Show and Tell.

Note the camera on the top rung of the ladder. We where testing the field of vision. We can see the step stool and down the left of the camper to the rear out to the tree on the left, same on the right and way back..

Good thing you have a Co-Pilot riding shotgun I have to agree with azstar, you will be needing a larger cab real soon. you need to talk to Firetrucker about Mega room.
The in stall looks nice but why did you mount the camera in the path if the ladder and not in the center of the trailer,

TT2.. That could still happen. It may move over from where it is to a point above the window under the center running light. The ladder was a easy install and the test so far indicate we can see everything we want to see. Some real time use on the road will determine that. I was thinking of installing a work station in the crew cab and have all that stuff back there..that could also still happen. This is still a work in progress.

Rich, how did you run the cable, and what connection did you make for the Monty to ford connection? Also how is that thing mounted in cup hold bolted down in the ashtray? More detailed pictures please.

Don't think I could get a detailed enough picture of how the monitor is secured in the cup holder. The adjustable base of the monitor is bow tie shaped and upper end of the bow tie fits under a flap on the cup holder then just snug up the cup holder and ..it is secure. The cable comes in two sections a 65 foot section and a 16 foot extension.. I ran the cable down the ladder then under the camper. I thought about going under the underbelly then decided against that because it is a big chore and if something went wrong I would have to remove the underbelly. Used that Gorilla tape to tape it to the underbelly then over to the door side propane tank compartment.Drilled a hole as far to the front as I could and it came up under the dresser, ran the cable along the side wall into the closet. Then went out to the hitch pin (Mor-ride) in the space under the hitch pin is the floor of the closet//drill hole..feed cable.tie wrap it to the power cable..done. The truck is easy.. There is a rubber plug in the rear of the bed and a rubber plug in the rear of the cab..the 16 foor extension through both plugs..under the carpet and up to the monitor..it is easier than it sounds. If we could get the front cap off the camper to truck connection would be a lot easier..However..this will work..

I hate sun/moon roofs...Helen has one in the Honda Accord and the sun is always beating down on my head or neck. However .I did get the move all the pedals in and out option because Helen's legs are longer than mine and she was always moving the seat..

Rich, I just ordered one of the laptop tables. Was the installation as simple as it looks? Mine will be in a 1999 F-250 Superduty (V-10 like yours). I bought the disconnect and second arm for a van. I suppose the table can simply be removed and placed in the other vehicle.

Yes it is simple.we placed it there because only the navigator will be looking at it and it was in a comfortable position for use. I have the quick disconnect right at floor level so when you remove it all that is left in the truck is the floor mount. It is just lengths of black pipe..You can buy all of it in the plumbing section of any store. The vinyl covering is from a garden center. The guy deserves the order because he thought of something so simple but you can make another one yourself.

Rich,
Is there going to be any room left for the two of you?? You have so much stuff in there to keep you busy on the road for miles, you might just forget to get out of the truck and enjoy that Montana too. =)

Sky..There is nothing on the drivers side..all the driver has to do is drive and check the RV cam occasionally. The right seater does all the communications(CB) and the navigation(GPS) and othet PC house keeping chores. Of course we share the driving so I will get the duty also. These 1 ton trucks are big there is plenty of room up front..Besides we have got to be state of the art in all respects.

Thanks for all the great info, Rich. I'll probably get one of these myself.

BTW, where do you get Gorilla tape?

HI Rich: We have 2004 Dodge 1 ton Quad cab. Was wondering if you had to drill holes in your truck for the laptop table, or was there a way to use the seat bolt to attach. You have such a nice set up.
