Dave... our Kill-a-Watt arrived the 2nd day after ordering just like they said it would. But the SuperMediaStore is in California and so are we.

Hopefully yours will come today and you'll be able to play with it.

Interesting hearing how different appliances draw so much power.

Didn't make it today... We did have a package when we got home today. I, of course, was thinking that my "toy" had arrived. Alas, it was a gift from the dealership for my wife - a auto blanket. She loves it. Did that come US Mail, of UPS? If Mail, I could get it tomorrow (Sat). If UPS, not before Mon...

UPS Dave.....

They deliver in our area up to 7pm at night. We'll keep our fingers crossed it comes today still. Oops! It's probably already 7pm or later in your area. Sounds like Monday it is then.

Don't feel bad.... I can't play with ours until I give it to Doug on Sunday.

Maybe I'll hide Cheryl's blanket for a few days just to even things up a little... What am I thinking??? I always lose on those deals... Never mind - I'll just bite the bullet...

I know! I'll whine... drives her nuts... Yeah that's it. (Yeah, Dave Sprik. Good luck with that one, too...)

You guys don't mind if I talk to myself a little here do you?

And I appreciate you guys trying to make me feel better by telling me you won't use yours until I at least get a chance to get mine... Don't cheat now!

After reading this thread and a little research I decided to order a Kill-A-Watt meter as well. I will be using mine to monitor line voltage and will use to check frequency when on my portable generator. The price is right as compared to similar devices made especially for RV's. It will also be useful to see how much power different appliances require. Thanks for the heads up.

OK, you can all open your boxes now... mine just came USPS Priority Mail. I'm sure you all waited. Except I know Dave (Montana Sky) cheated... That's OK. I'm over it now.

Can you believe that Cheryl actually made the comment, "Is that something we REALLY needed right now???" She doesn't understand just how serious these items are! We need it much worse than whatever it was that just went through my charge card today for Chadwicks for $50! Wait til she gets home!

[Sarcastic tone]"Is that something we really needed right now?"[/Sarcastic tone], INDEED!!!

I wrote that down, Rich... Thanks!

OK, What am I looking at here? What upper/lower limits on CG voltage should we be running out and yanking the CG plug, when these numbers appear on our monitors? Should we also be watching any other numbers? Like "Frequency" ~ 60?

Dave... as 60Hz(cycles) decreases, Current (I) increases, Power(watts) decreases and the result is the device in use gets hot and burns up.That is why we need, in most cases, an adapter when in Europe as the standard is 50 HZ and devices designed to operate on 60HZ only will overheat and burn up as per above. As for voltage I would get very nervous if I saw 100/105 Volts incoming because as my old friend OHM says as Voltage decreases current increases and things, depending on the things, get hot and burn up.. The key words here are "burn up" so keep your Voltage and HZ up...

So at 105v, I should be finding an alternative power source (batts or gen) or alternative CG?

Well if I saw 105V at a CG I would be going to propane on the fridge, shutting down the A/C and start looking for another campground..or cranking up the Kipor 3500ti

That's why the 2 plus years I spent in France felt like forever back in my Army days. They run the clocks on 50 HZ, must make the days about 25 hours long, learned something today.

Shouldn't take long, Rick. We all got ours in about 3 days - Priority Mail (slowest/cheapest way listed).

OK - I got my 2 ordered. I'm running a little behind - I spent 2 weeks in the hospital with an emergency appendectomy with 10 inches of gaingrenous colon removed (2 surgeries in 3 days). I just got home Monday evening and am just now "caring" much about the RV toys - but I'll catch up !!!!
