Sounds like a good plan, Dave.

Well today is the day, I went to the rv shop and purchased my 2nd a/c for the bedroom. I was not as happy as I was hoping to be due to I can only order a 13.5k btu in the Dometic Low-profile w/ heatstrip. Dometic is not making a 15k non-ducted low profile a/c unit, I guess there has been problems in the past with having 2 15k a/c's. They are causing "short cycles" on the a/c's and are not lasting as long or running properly because of this. According to my dealership all they can order for the bedroom now is 13.5 in a low profile Dometic. I am hoping to call Dometic tomorrow to double check...

Montana Sky, I don't think you will be disappointed in the 13,500 low profile. That's what we have on our 3400 with the heat strip and have been very happy with it.

cjenks234,
Glad to hear that your 13.5 has been doing a good job for you, I am hoping to have the same luck. The temps down at the river can get well into the 100's during July and August, this hopefully will help keep the coach much cooler.

MontanaSky, Trust me, You will love it. It cools our 3400 better then the one in the LR. You can feel the COLD air coming out of that BR like crazy. We had ours when we went to my brothers on the river in Blythe where at that time last year the temp was 120. That sucker like to froze us out of the trailer...I couldn't believe it...I told Paul, maybe we should switch them around...It is amazing the difference with 2 a/c's. Oh yea, our 2nd one is a 13.5k. I wouldn't worry about being cool, you will be COLD>>>>>We had to shut the LR one off until it got a little warmer. And that is in 120 degrees...

Kathi you are the second person that I have heard say that. When we first got ours we was told that we would like the 13,500 low profile better then the main 15,000 unit. So far that has proved to be true.

Kathi,
So glad to have another person have the same experience as Charile. I was really not very happy with only have the 13.5K option but after hearing actual proof, I am much happier now. I am sure hoping for the same problem as you, too much cold air rather than not enough. Thanks again for helping me be happier about the 13.5K a/c. I will let you know how it works once I get the coach down to the lake.
