Slide adjustment

Quick question. I’ve seen many videos on adjusting slides to center them however haven’t seen one on 2020 Montana 381th. Our main slide catches and jerks as the rubber molding folds to direction of slide movement. I checked and can’t get a finger between slide and wall on front but can insert fingers almost completely on rear of slide. My question since there are no adjustments on bottom of slide. Can I use a pribar and using angle iron on bottom edge of slide pry up and back to maybe shift slide 1/2 “ to rear to more center it so that runners don’t jam it up so hard

I don't have any advice unfortunately - but if you search this forum for "cable slide adjustment" about a page full of threads will come up to read.

If you search the same thing on the Keystone Owner's Forum - 3 pages of threads come up.

No you cant, those slides have rails that are attached, but there is a way of moving them from the bottom of the slide , you would do well in having a dealer take a loke!

You cannot, not without knowledge and a lot of time. Hydraulic slides...piece of cake. Even the factory didn't get my hydraulic slides correct. My cable controlled bedroom slide...nope, they got that wrong as well. Think of that bedroom slide as a big six sided box that moves out by two people on the inside applying exactly the same force to push it out evenly within that wall cutout. Going in...two people outside pushing in with the same force. Off by a little bit in force and that box moves in or out at a slight angle. Cables, all sets of them for in and out, adjusted correctly will move it in or out straightly. Assuming your cable adjusts are perfect, then your box is set in the opening wrong. Big big forklift outside under the box, lifting it up and moving it sideways that inch or so...with no components mounted wrong...it should be just like was designed to work. AT LEAST THIS IS MY CUT AT IT. A good shop with knowledge and expertise is needed...not some cw with maybe trained folks that can really make it worse. Good luck in finding that service.

Since it’s a new 2020 dealership should be able to adjust the slideout. If it’s hydraulic it’s actually easy to adjust the horizontal position

Had to call keystone in order to get phone number of dealer authorized to work on montana. I call 4 dealers that said no I had to take to dealer I purchased it from but keystone really steered me to this place. I have appt Monday at 9 they will take it straight in. Will update when done. Thx again

Take it to the dealer. It's a 2020, warranty will cover that.

Warranty work

Does it upset anyone but me that you can’t take it to the nearest dealer? I purchased my 3812 MS in Georgetown, Texas but live 180 miles away. To get to the dealer where I purchased the unit I have to go by at least 2 Montana dealers. The closest is 30 minutes away. That should be addressed by Keystone to make it as easy as possible to get warranty work done. I’ll get off my soap box now.

Mine out of warranty and was stopping halfway when the motor overheated ( Ball able slides) the slide bar was defective from the factory. Cost me $5000 to fix two slide. Keystone could give a crap about the crap they push out the door. Good Sam picked up about $1600 worth. 16 weeks later we have the trailer back

G&S - we did just the opposite from you...bought the unit south of Fort Worth but live 10 minutes from Georgetown dealer. At the time I was doing a temporary duty project in Fort Worth. Fortunately we have not had any problems that required warranty work.

I would raise a heck of a stink. You should be able to get warranty work done at ANY authorized seller location. If I buy my ford in WA and move move to VA I don’t have to go back to WA to get it serviced.

Mikendebbie,
The good thing is we plan to move down to Georgetown in a few years once the DW retires, but that doesn’t help me right now on warranty work. So far I’ve been able to take care of any issues myself. But who knows what will come up in the future.

Oeeman- I think everyone is onboard with that, except the dealers. They did tell us we are part of a Priority Club that will get us in faster. Faster than someone with a Jayco.......maybe, unless they sold the Jayco. That would be a good point to bring up to a Keystone executive, should one show up at a rally.
