Well, I guess we just don't worry about it. We've been camping for 11 years and fulltiming for just short of 3. We've never had a single problem with someone breaking into our lockers or our rig. We've been in a number of state parks in Kansas and a few in other states. I have been next to two or three Montana owners so far who told me they don't even bother to lock the doors except when on the road. Sometimes ours are locked, sometimes not. If we ever pull into a place we're not comfortable with, we'll find another place.

Dsprik, like HomeOnTheRoad said, the width of the doors provides a lot of leverage against that lock's lever. I don't think a harder one is going to make much difference. It just means popping the screwdriver a bit harder. If you do it right you can even pry the outer lower corner of the door out enough to get your fingers under the door where you can supply some serious muscle against the door. If the lock lever holds out that long.

I know what you're saying, Steve. I just want to make it as "un-inviting" as possible - w/o going overboard. Something that makes a potential vandal think it may not be worth his time to check out my storage doors - and make him go to my neighbor's. (Sorry, that wasn't a very positive thing to say. I meant, "go somewhere else".)

Now, I don't really know how a vandal's mind works, but I would believe that if they figured they had multiple targets, at least mine would not look the easiest.

Kinda like the joke about the two fishermen fishing up in bear country, when they inadvertantly got a angry bear's attention. They both took off running. The bear lumbered after them. Suddenly, one fisherman stopped, kicked off his boots, ripped out his tennis shoes in his backpack and quickly started putting them on. The other fisherman yelled back, "You'll never outrun that bear with those!" The second fisherman jumped to his feet in hot pusuit of his partner, yelling back at him, "I don't have to out run that bear - I only have to out run YOU!"

Don't wish anyone bad luck - just want to have my tennis shoes...

Another thing to consider - if you have TOO much visible protection on a cargo door, I would think it might tend to get the attention of a thief, thinking you have "Fort Knox" in there. That would be like drawing a "bullseye" on your Montana. Way too much unwanted attention.
