Danger OPEN SLIDE !!!!!

Well the new trailer got me. Was going to do one more thing in the dark and hit my head on the slide corner. 30 staples later in my head tonight. At least the hospital ER was almost empty. 40 minutes in and out!

Charlie

with a headache LOL

You are not the first one. Don't forget the hitch also.

Charlie - the next head-knocker to watch out for is the cabinet door over the control panel in the stair hallway to the bedroom. You will forget to close it and of course when I walk up stairs my eyes are down looking at the stairs. I hit my head hard 3 times...but when DW hit her head one time I was cured from leaving the door open.

Search the forum for “head knocker door” to read about various solutions. Remembering to close the door is one solution.

(Having little hair left) I always wear a cap when working on the trailer. You wouldn't think it would be much as a cushion, but it really helps with scraps and scratches.
Also, you should get a swimming 'noodle' and split it lengthwise. Fits right over the slide and eliminates the big bang on the head.

I wear one of these. Only take it off at night so that my night mask fits my face when going to sleep.

The trailer is a few day new. We didn't get to the pool noodle trick yet. Thanks for the tip anyway.

WoW! You must have a headache. Sorry about that. After 4 5ers and years of walking around them day and night, I did the head bump last trip. Nothing like yours, but a hell of a goose egg. Take care!

It's not IF, but WHEN your head hits either that BR slide or hitch. Or both. So far only one ER trip for me but a couple other times it was just a 'ding'.

Sorry to hear that your initiation happend so soon - get well and get those split noodles on the corners - mine are day-glow orange

PS: Oh, one more ouch - those open hatch covers - they also have a habit of leaping out and whanging your noggin as well.

Been there, done that. I'd love to tell you it won't happen again, but...

Pool Noodle for the slides and bungee for the cabinet door

We use the pool noodles also in bright colors. Also, my husband just took the door to the panel off completely. Now no problems.

Hey all,
Thank for the well wishes and advice. Noodles are on all corners of the slide outs. Head is also felling better and the bruising is getting less. Looks like I went 12 with Ali with him winning..LOL Thanks again and have a great weekend..

I cut a slit in pool noodles and put them on the pop out corners.

We don't have the death door, BUT we have another issue. We have slides both FRONT AND REAR, and quite frankly, I find the ones on the rear are easier to hit than the front ones. I'm not used to having TALL slides in the back, and it's gotten me twice so far.

Thankfully, not 30 staples worth of getting me , but it dang sure hurts when you hit it!

Need to get some pool noodles, before I do get 30 staples!!!

Ouch!
I have found that one of the most sturdy items in our camper is the bottom corner of the upper kitchen cabinet right above our trash can. My head has tried to remove the trim from that cabinet several time and it hasn’t budged.
