For the icemaker in the fridge, there is a small "cycle" button under the front edge of the icemaker. Press and hold that to cycle the icemaker. Do this about 5 or 6 times with your antifreeze connected at the intake. Once you flow pink to the icemaker, you are done. Next Spring, do the same with the water hooked up to clear it out.

Depends on how cold it will get where you are and if you have access to AC power. I winterize my refer and W/D by putting two old style (meaning they get hot) 60 watt bulbs inside both.

I know many use antifreeze in their ice makers, but Samsung doesn't recommend it. I used to just blow the lines out with air. I have put in a bottled water source and pump inside the cabinet next to the fridge for the ice maker now, so I only disconnect and drain it.

It looks like you have a 2022 model and that may be a GE fridge, mine’s a ‘21. I disconnect the water line at the back of the kitchen slide (outside) and attach my compressor air line set at 45ish psi to the line that goes to the refer (the braided line that goes up into the slide box) then I run the water dispenser until empty and air is coming out. Then I cycle the ice maker until it’s also empty. Then remove the water filter from inside the fridge. Supposedly the reason that pink is not recommended for the ice maker is that eventually it will breakdown the Teflon like coating on the cube molds…I don’t know, I’ve just been told by appliance repair people.
Below is the procedure to cycle the ice maker and a picture of the water line capped and plugged off for the winter after I disconnect it to attach the compressor. The fittings shown are 1/2” standard pipe thread. I run pink through out the rest of the trailer, up to the capped off blue line in the picture.
I don’t have a washer/dryer.

I forgot to add that this is the shut off valve to the fridge that is behind the false back of the bottom cabinet to the left of the fridge. I leave that valve open all of the time, summer or winter so that water or air can pass through. Someday I suppose I’ll tidy that mess up, out of sight, out of mind.

I used my camera in my phone to look under the ice maker and take this picture. You can not see it without a mirror or camera placed inside the ice tray looking up at the bottom of the ice maker. Push the button several times to cycle the ice maker. It will keep dumping the water out. Once you see pink in the ice tray you are done.

Good Info

Thank you MandK, for a very clear explanation of what I consider to be the best winterization for the refrigerator; mine has a GE refrigerator with an ice maker as well - it works.
