Finally…the truth about gas prices

Well, at least from one store owner’s point of view. On the way home from work today, I saw the gas prices at a local store owned by a former educator who has a rather flip look at most things in life. In fact he used to be famous for interesting quips on his signboard, but I believe I saw his masterpiece today.

His gas prices were listed as follows, the last two in large block letters:
Regular: $1.99
Mid-grade: ARM
Premium: LEG

At least it appears he is an advocate of truth in advertising!

Good one Wordsmith with an excellant addendum by Bowie.

Just a side note, in the past 18 days our diesel prices went from 2.03 to 2.23 in just 12 days and in the last 3 days back to 2.18. While the price of gasoline went up just 3 cents in the same time period.

Bowie, you are spot on with that one. If Danny actually sold diesel, I would share it with him. Might do so anyway…

G & L, our prices have shown no downward spin yet. Diesel can be found—if you are willing to look—anywhere from $2.01 to $2.23. Gas prices jumped yesterday about 10 cents, ranging from $1.95 to $2.03.

What a joy it is to fill up at the pump. At least I do not have to carry around that extra weight in my wallet!

What makes me wonder even more is why we are seeing run away prices with an administration that is run by oilmen. Hmmmmmm.

Stiles, it would ALMOST be worth it to drive out to Texas and fill up!

To those of you who live in the Pacific northwest, every time I read about the prices you pay for diesel, I have to shake my head at how you are being gouged by oil companies. “First born child” indeed! It really puts the prices here in Georgia in a different perspective.

Got it for $2.05 yesterday here in Biloxi yesterday and today it's $2.09 at the BP. Everyplace else is $2.19. Maybe we're going to have to stay here---can't afford the diesel to go home to Michigan. Besides it's still cold there.

Regular gas here in Central New York is $2.13. Haven't seen the price on diesel lately. What I'd like to know is why such a hike in propane. We heat with propane and every month $400. We don't even have the house warm. Hope Spring arrives early. Gonna be broke by May.
