Smoke detector in front storage

Had my 2000w Renogy located in front storage loose it’s smoke without any warning except that the power went off. Remote showed unit was still on but when I opened the door smoke and stink came out. Cooling fans were on but could not keep hand on unit because of heat. Shut it off and disconnected from battery.

Has anyone used the Kidde wireless smoke detectors? Thinking of getting two of them. One to mount in front compartment where all of my electrical and batteries are and the other to rotate between the coach and truck when towing. Will also be adding a disconnect between batteries and inverter.

Sounds like a good plan.
