City water connection leaks badly HELP

Newbie Montana owner here, trying to get pump and water tank working. I put some water into the water tank, then turned the Normal flow/fill valve to normal flow and the city water connection leaks terribly as soon as I turn the pump on(blows the cover cap right off and water streams out. What is going on ????

There is a check valve in that connection to keep water from comming out that way when the pump is used. Sounds liike it needs to be replaced. Get part from a dealer (doesn't have to be a Montana dealer) and replace it. Take the wall off on the basement side of the convenience center (several screws) and you'll see how it's hooked up.

Thanks , that check valve WAS stuck. There is also a rubber washer with a cone shaped screen in it. Should that cone screen be pointed inward or outward ?? If I point it inward it seems to mess with that check valve.

if you point it outward it will be easier to clean, and it won't mess with the checkvalve

You don't need to run the pump if you are hooked up to city water.

If you have pass thru storage in front of the water connections you can remove back wall of the storage compartment to access rear of water service panel. Depending on the model you may also find pump and other equipment behind that wall. On ours each half of the wall has 4 screws and comes right out exposing pump, furnace, rear of water service, 110 to 12v converter and a whole lot of pipe and wiring.
