Ford ESP, Like

Heater was only blowing heat from the drivers side. Don't know how long it was that way as there is little use for a heater in Florida. Did not take long to notice it when we got back to Ohio
Got the truck back from Ford today. Don't know what any of this means but this is what they did.

replaced blend door actuator.
steering column switch assemblies.
motor assembly.
2 electronic keys.
door actuator(temperature)

Remove dash assembly and replace temp blend door actuator

I saw the bill. It was just short of 900.00'.Cost to me 100.00 deductable

My '04 Silverado had a similar problem. With the AC on, the driver's side would work fine, but the passenger side blew hot. Didn't make mama happy. The dealer replaced the actuator and some other parts under warranty. Not sure if it was fixed right, because I picked up the truck, drove to another dealer and traded it in for my dually. Weird day.

Rich, Get used to it. We've had four replaced and it still doesn't work right. Diesels don't make vacuum so they use an electric servo motor to regulate the heat or air. Like everything else, on these trucks they are not adequate to move the door that regulates temperature. They will make clicking noises before they stop working.

Rich, add us to the list. We have had the passenger side blow hot while driver side blows cold off and on for the past 5 years. Cant tell you how many times it has been "fixed". The last time seems to be holding, at least 6 or 7 months now. Never heard any clicking noise before things went south. I'm just glad I bought the ESP with NO deductible!

Yes, we have had both sides (actuators) on our truck replaced. They do make a ticking noise prior to failure.

Had a similar problem when we owned our Silverado. Had to have it fixed four times in the five years we owned the vehicle. Another reason we traded it.

A couple trips into the Ford dealer with a bill like that and the ESP is paid for. I hated to buy my ESP but I am glad I have it.

We never heard any clicking but my hearing is not all that good. This is the first time we have had this problem and the truck is 7 1/2 years old.
We had the top radiator hose leak @ 50K miles , the bottom hose leak at @ 60K miles and the heater problem all in 7 1/2 years and 66K miles.

We just extended the ESP for another 36 months. If these actuators fail as posted here then that was a good buy.

We extended our Premium care for 36 months 100.00 deductible for 2280.00. We can not take the chance that something major will fail.

I completely understand! Hey, it's only $63 per month! There is no better protection as far as I can see, and it's cheaper than a new truck!!

Go to a Ford Dealer or any repair shop and let them tell you what a new Diesel motor or what a high cost repair will cost.2280.00 will not put us out of the Rv business one of those high cost failures will.
