Jack Antenna replacement worth it?

2011 3400RL.
Well, it's summer time, or more importantly, Montana Mod Time. I have been looking at replacing the original batwing TV antenna with one of the Jack Digital Antennas. http://www.jacktv4free.com/products_rv.html. The idea of replacing the crank up antenna with the short always-in-place model is appealing, but I'm not sure of the height. I have the bedroom AC up there (NOT the slim model), so height might not even be a problem. They also provide a much cheaper version that mounts to the TV antenna arm already there, just replacing the batwing. Any experiences with either one and whether they work better or not? Thanks

I have replaced my bat wing with the cheaper one as you call it but in reality they are the same electronic workings the extra is the roof hugging mount that looks a lit better along with you never have to worry about "Is the Antenna up" any more. I installed mine on the bat wing arm and love it for now but I still have to look up there and make sure its down before I go down the road.

We replaced our winegard with the Jack on the existing crank up. It's an easy install and well worth it

If I ever used the crank-up batwing, I would definitely replace the head with a Jack.

I replaced my winegard crank up antennae head with the Jack while I was at the rally in Quatrzsite in January. Before the replacement, I could get 5 or 6 stations sometimes. Using the Jack, I got 16 stations with a better quality signal. IMHO a much better antennae.

Replaced mine with Jack antenna and feel that we have much clearer picture and one more channel.

I may have gotten a bad Jack, but on my old SOB I replaced the Sensar batwing with the Jack replacement and it actually received less channels. I ended up putting the old batwing back on.

Replaced batwing with Jack and never looked back. Love it. Many more stations and not as narrow reception field as bat wing. Have actually forgotten to raise the Jack and still received a bunch of stations.

Thanks for all the replies. I replaced the Wingard head with the Jack and went from 15 channels to 22 channels. Super easy!

Just put the Jack on our rig, couldn't believe the difference in the number of channels we were getting! Didn't even have to turn it! No pics were breaking up either like when we used the original antenna.
