Birch Ridge Campground [Warroad, MN]
We're currently sitting in a nice, rustic, park outside the small town of Warroad, MN.
For those unfamiliar with the town, Warroad lies on the southern shore of Lake of the Woods at the base of the Northwest Angle of Minnesota - the "spike" at the top of the state - and is "home" to a large number of dedicated Walleye fishermen and boaters during the summer and ice fishermen, hunters, and snowmobilers during the winter. [It's also home to Marvin Windows.] For those interested, many of the local businesses (including the local Casino) offer discounts/packages for "Seniors" [55+] ranging from 10% discounts on fuel (on Tuesdays) and meals (every day) to $10 in gambling money (on Thursdays).
The facilities here in the park are limited but nice. [No washateria, no store, no snack bar, but a nice restroom.]
A small park, Birch Ridge offers ~18 full-hookup sites and a number of non-hookup sites within a grove of Birch and Poppel trees.
The park is open from mid-may 'til the end of September with a Seasonal Rate of $720 for the full "season".
Oh, yeah: the park management, RVers themselves, bend over backwards to make their tenants feel at home.
While this is our first "season" here, it won't be our last.
