16K Reese Assembly
I took my Reese 16K slider out in November. I took it apart so I wouldn't have to pick up as much. Hitch Pin part from the bottom of the frame. It's connected with a approx. 2 inch pin about 5 inches long.
Now for the question does it matter which way the 2 in. pin goes in. Front to back or back to front.
I have it going from the cab to the tailgate with the retaining pin closest to the tailgate.
I'm pulling tomorrow and would like to know the wisdom of MOC.

Hugh,
My pin is installed as you describe the way you installed yours. From the cab to the tailgate. This the way the dealer installed it. I don't know if it would make any difference.

If you take out the whole slider assembily like I did, it does matter which way you put the rear pins into the mounting bar on the truck bed. The rear pins need to go in from rear towards cab of truck, otherwise you cannot move the slide into a locking rear position.

I also have a 16K but not a slider I have also removed that 2 inch pin amd removed the hitch in two pieces.
