Dryer vent in floor?

I really don't want to put a 4" hole in the side of our 340rlq so was wondering if there is room under the floor to run the vent down. I was thinking of going from the exhaust on the back of the dryer with a round to flat and then down through the floor and back to a round and install some kind of exhaust vent. Not sure if the black tank is there and it's still raining here so don't want to crawl around in the mud.

I know that RLWHIT did this in his rig but don't remember what model it is.

We have a 3400 and are thinking of doing the same thing. We've used ours for two years with the vent just laying in the basement (we keep the basement door open when we are using the w/d). The instructions for the w/d says it must vent down and that seems to be the only way to do it is out the bottom of the Monty. Let us know what you do.
Happy trails.....................

You could run it like Sue and Ed have done. Then when it is in the basement you could go down between the frame and the wall containing the cargo door. You would need to use hard pvc pipe in that area so cargo moving around in the basement won't damage it.

Dick,

I had the same question. There is a space between the galley and black tank where the wash machine drain extends down through the belly, but that is too far back from where you need to be. I was unable to tell what is straight down from the back of the closet.

That side hole does make a nervous first cut! Our Ariston dryer did not have the down vent restriction.
