Entry Light Fixture Swinging

I have had the entry light come loose twice from the ceiling and hang by the wire. This is the light above the door inside the rig. It is the three globe fixture on a four inch drop. I went to replace it with a solid mount fixture from CW and now it continually blows the fuze. That light is tied in with two other ceiling fixtures over the kitchen area. I have a suspicion that there is something rubbing inside the ceiling and grounding the circuit. Has anyone else had this kind of problem? I have a 2006 3400RL. HELP!!

Try unscrewing it, let it hang by the wires, OR hold it, have someone turn it on after putting in a new fuse.
Then pull and twist the power wires, if the fuse blows, unwire the new fixture, go to the next light, take it loose, let it hang and tug the wires there, if the wires move on the entry fixture, just pull new wires. You have either ran a screw into the wires, or the wires shorted in the ceiling.
It could be from the door fixture to the switch, you can also pull new wires there.
Good luck.

Thanks Ozz. I have a strong suspicion i will have to pull a new wire from the fixture to the switch. There is only a 1/2 X 1 1/2 hole where the wire comes out. The fixture just screws into the ceiling panel. I think that while the old fixture was swinging it rubbed something inside and i have a bare wire in there I need to replace. Thanks again for the input.

Thinking about it, disconnect the hot wire to the 'hanging fixture' turn the fused power on, if the fuse blows then, it is in the line from switch to fixture, if not, it's either in the new fixture, or downstream.

Ozz....got it all taken care of. got the exposed wire clipped off and fixture installed. thanks again for the input. Part of the forum entry was to see if anyone else had the problem of the light coming loose. Those who have the 3400RL should check the light for tightness, etc. Take care and travel safe. Bill
