Now time for camping, the boat dock is finished!!!
Those who followed the threads before about the time consuming effort that I undertook last Spring will be pleased to know that the boat dock at the stick-house is 99 percent complete. All that is left is to add a coat or two of rust converter to the pilings and finish them with a couple coats of gray oil based paint to match the tables and benches. Finished the floating boat lift installation this weekend. Previous weekends were spent adding the power and water pedestal (many thanks to Jim Fischer and John Wedell for the electrical advice), a deck box, grill, etc. Those who are not familiar with the project might be interested in knowing that it was entirely designed, constructed and installed by three people (me, myself and I). Here are a couple of pics of the finished project:

Now we are looking forward to more camping time. Reservations are made for May 7th, NE Rally in June, Va-Mid-Atlantic rally in August followed by a week at Myrtle. Hopefully a few more weekend adventures will be added to the schedule as well. Oh, and apologies are in order to indy roadrunner, there is now NO room left on the dock for the Montana!!

As previous boaters we are very jealous! What a wonderful place to live. You certainly did a great job on the docks!

AWESOME!!!!!!! that's a lot of work. ssssooooooo i'm looking, and it seems there might be enough room for a 18' Fish & Ski. It's blue and silver would look really nice sitting there with that big boat.
Very nice job, kevin
Ps: what water is that?

Kevin,
The location is the Kanawha River at Winfield, WV., and there is 54 feet of room to tie up on the outside (with cleats and rub rails).

Well in spite of your miscaluation of allowing room for the Montie that is just one nice looking construction job. You and the family can be very proud. Now I still see one thing missing......ME sitting on that bench looking out over the river.
Maybe one of these days.........

With a back yard on the river like that, I'm not sure I would be leaving to spend money to go to a campground.

The interesting part is the river is the front yard, we walk down the steps from the front porch directly across the yard to our little (well maybe not so little) oasis on the river. It still does not take the place of camping though, a nice supplement, but definitely not a replacement!!
