Dryer venting question

The Big Sky offers a factory installed washer/dryer as an option. It can be either combo or stackable. The dealer told us that the dryer vents to the back. The fit in the available space is so tight that it is not possible to vent the unit to the outside.

Would anyone care to comment on no space for outside venting of the dryer? Would this problem be limited to the brand that Keystone installs and perhaps another brand could be outside vented?

If the dryer cannot be vented, how do you prevent the inside of the Big Sky from becomming a large humidifier of sauna? What would be the long term effect of all of this moisture on the inside of the laundry closet and/or the entire rig?

The venting issue was raised when the dealer told us that the dryer has a much longer drying cycle than a home washer due to the inability to vent to the outside. He says that the same situation occurs in the Montanas. Do you folks agree or disagree with all of this?

Don and Bonnie - not sure what Keystone is putting in the Big Sky now, but the initial models shown in January had Splendide Ariston. The Splendide dryer has sufficient room in the back to run a 4" vent out the side of the Monty. (dryer 22" deep - closet should be 26" deep).

Our w/d vents to the outside and I wouldn't have it any other way. Not only is the moisture a problem but so is the lint! Maybe someone with your model can jump in and explain their setup for the w/d. In another post someone vented their w/d to the basement and then changed the vent to the outside when they found out about the moisture and lint. If this is a factory installed w/d I'm sure they will vent it outside wouldn't they?

Don't know why the dealership/salesman would tell you that. We have had the Splendide Combo unit and now have the Splendide Ariston Stackable unit and they both were vented to the outside. It is very tight fit, but ours works fine. I wouldn't have a unit that wasn't vented to the outside, the moisture, heat to the inside of the 5th wheel, I don't think you would like that. Both of our Splendide's were installed by Camping World and worked fine. Good Luck...GBY..

We have a Cambridge and I think the Big Sky have the same closet space. Check our web site and see the Splendide Aristion...
