Warranty repairs

I have an appointment for warranty repairs with a Keystone dealer next week. They said that, since I did not purchase it from them, I may have to pay for the repairs and then get reimbursed by Keystone. I have no problem with this.

Has anyone else had success with this procedure?

I would have a conversation with Keystone customer service to see what they had to say about that deal.

I will. I'll let the dealer look at it first, see what they have to say.

Some try to do that because they get more money from you than what Keystone will pay.

Sounds like a bunch of crap to me. Any Keystone dealer should do warranty work for anybody regardless of who sold the coach. That’s like my local Ford dealer telling me I have to pay for warranty work on my new truck because I didn’t buy it from them.... I’ll guarantee you that won’t happen.

I'll see what they say before going any further.

Let's not start this discussion again; it's already been beat to death and we all feel about the same.

I just want to know if anyone has received reimbursement directly from Keystone for warranty work.

This one is an hour away. The next closest is 4.5 hours over two 10k foot passes; not fun in the winter. Not sure I would expect anything different anyway. Options are limited.

The answer to your question is yes, I recieved reimbursement from Keystone for a warranty repair and it was in full and very prompt. They must have sent the check the day the bill arrived. That said, I called Keystone and was authorized to have a non-dealer fix the issue since there was no dealer in the area.

Thanks. I will definitely talk to Keystone before anything is started. I mentioned calling Keystone to the service manager (very nice guy); he said let them look at it first and they would call Keystone. That is what I will do, but I will talk to Keystone myself before any repairs are started.

Let Keystone know when you call them the name of the dealer it is at and the details of the warranty repairs. Have Keystone start a file on your unit and let the dealer know a file has been started. I've seen dealers drag their feet on units, telling the owner they have contacted Keystone when they actually have not so keep on this to make sure things get done and done correctly. IF not, refuse to take the unit off the lot until the work is done and done correctly.

I'd find another dealer. Leaving it on the lot until repairs are completed could take several months....

Find another dealer. Don't know where in Colorado you are but the only dealer in the state I would reccommend is Centennial in Grand Junction. Have had warranty as well as recall work done there with no questions at all. They also did good work for me, at least. Any dealer that asks if you bought from them or wants you to pay for warranty work is scamming the system and should lose their franchise.

You can take it to any approved repair facility. You don't have to go to a Keystone/Montana dealer. Slimy turd buckets, just when you think you've heard it all.. I've been told I would be on the low priority list (non buyer list) but not told I'd have to pay for warranty repairs. What next....

Hi

I have been thru this before.

Keystone does not require their dealers to do warranty work on trailers they did not sell.

I paid then never got anything from Keystone because I did not use the dealer I purchased from. I even offered to split the repair charges with them they refused to pay anything.

I forgot to update this, but Keystone honored the warranty and paid me in full.

Here is the thread discussing the actual repair.

http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...ad.php?t=72289

Update: I took the unit to the closest dealer who said they would look at it. As I mentioned previously, they said since I had not bought it there, I would have to pay them and seek reimbursement from Keystone. I opened a ticket with Keystone and kept them updated on the status. After a month, the dealer told me they would not be able to get to it until spring. I asked Keystone if they would reimburse me if I took it somewhere else and was told probably. At this point I was willing to pay for it if necessary; it would only be a few hundred dollars. I picked the unit up and took it to a fiberglass specialty shop. They fixed the original crack and another one that had not been noticed yet; did a great job. The shower was obviously dropped or bumped prior to or during installation. After submitting photos and an invoice to Keystone, I received a reimbursement check for the full amount.

Keystone was very easy to work with and I am pleased with their support
