Anyone have any advice on how to fix the day/night shades. We cannot raise the one on the back window -- strings are very tight and will not allow the shade to be raised -- actually looks like the one of the strings have frayed. Can they be restrung and if so, how?? Would appreciate your suggestions.
Thanks Julie

Hi Julie
I have a 2004 also. Out of warranty and Keystone is replacing the shades that were incorrectly installed. What ended up happening is that, over time, the day shade(s) torn up -- and now bunch up, looking like do-do. But Keystone has been great and the new shades are on their way.
Oh! The incorrect installation was determined by our dealer, who notified Keystone and is taking care of the details.

We had trouble with the back picture window shade where the eylet broke and the shade itself tore..... we ordered one from a dealer here in northern NY and he installed it for us....raise it once and the string broke, now i can't do anything with it....also i noticed that they put a screw thhru the curtain rode right into the middle of the shade (day and night shades) - pleasse check your back windows and see if any one has a screw in the middle of the curtain rod thru the shade (not sure if this other dealer did it this way or if it was this way orginially)/.. seems a bit riduclous as i can't take the curtains down at all.

John, each winter I remove ours so we can cover the windows with 3M film, to keep the warm in and the cold out. There are no screws through the shades on ours. There are mounting screws to hold the top bar of the shade in place but none through the shade.

I was told when we picked up the Monty that there is a way to put up the shades and put down the shades. They told me that to put them down first take the white shade down first then the dark shade. If you try to do them both it is just to difficult. Then to put them up you take the dark one up first and then the white one. It has been alot easier but didn't stop the rear picture window shade from coming apart. Kathi

When we picked up our trailer they told me to make sure I use both hands--one on each end of the shade and to open the day and night ones separtely.

on our back large window, the string broke, a dealer in our area replaced it for a heffy fee and then the new would not stay up, the string was loose and come to find out it was broken so he replaced it at no cost to us but this one is just as cheap, and it is loose. we are going to be tking it down and tryig to fix it ourselfs. not sure where this dealer gets his shades but they ain't worth what they charge for it. Our 5th Wheel is now 5 years old and it seems as if several things are falling apart on it....the decals on the front are coming loose, any suggestions on sealing these down again??? thanks, john deveau, NY
