New Rig...What Wax

Picking up the new 2014 3402 on Thursday..and just wondering. What wax or type of product are you new rig owners using on the body of your rig? We had a 2007 3400 that suffered the decal issues and want to make sure the new one stays good. Excited about new rig and new outside decal and color scheme.

Aerospace 303 ... kinda hard to put on without streaking at first, but you get the hang of it after a while. A microfiber towel makes it polish up better.

I am a Meguires RV and Boat Wax guy. Decals and all for almost 20 years on all my RVs and boats.

We use Croftgate products, not petroleum based, and believe good for use on decals, and always use microfiber towels.

Pretty much most any wash/wax car wash will keep a shine on it. I have used Blue Corral, Turtle and Meguires... Even in this Texas sun I have never hand waxed my rig and it is still shiny. Now on the end caps I have Red Max Pro which never need waxing anyways.......

The decals are of better quality than a 2007 ,I have never waxed mine just wash it with Rain-x car wash and still looks like it came of the lot in late 2011

I'd recommend that you spend your money on your favorite beverage, grab a comfortable lawn chair and watch the other guy beat himself silly waxing his trailer. Your gel coat finish will look good for years with neglect.

All of this talk about wax makes me wonder if the directions and recommendations for the decals have changed? It used to specifically state not to wax over the decals with any wax that has petroleum or petroleum by-products in the wax. We (that should probably read DH!!) will be using the Croftgate products on the new rig since Santa was nice enough to provide a supply.

If I was part time and had my Montana up north under a shade tree I probably would not wax. Our new rig will be up north when it is hot and down south for the winters, always in the sun and on the road a lot. Mine is getting waxed twice a year. After owning boats for many years I can tell you that gel coat finish will not last and dry out over several years without being waxed. I use NuFinish wax.

Since polishing and protecting a RV is such a big job, 3M has condensed it into one simple step with their 3M Marine Cleaner & Wax. The built-in polish removes light to medium oxidation and brightens the color of the fiberglass. The wax provides excellent UV protection and a smooth shine that stands up to water and the elements.

Nu Finish for me, too. Been using it for over 20 years.

Just my 2 cents Nu Finish once a year on the sides and 2 times on the cap and rear.

If you hit it when new, Nu Finish polish works great.

I agree with Larry. A number of MOCers recommended it and I could not be more pleased with the results. When it's really dirty, I use the Wash and Wax concentrate. Only used a gallon of water for the whole RV. When it not bad dirty, I use the Acquanil X because it has extra wax and you just spray it on and wipe it in with a damp cloth and buff it with a dry cloth. I did the whole 3402 over a few days. I had to stop for beer.

Two of the best waxes you'll ever use are Klasse and P21S. You can purchase both on Amazon. I own a black truck, and love the deep shine these waxes create. Klasse is also great on just about any surface. (Formica, tile, metal, etc). The best part about it is you can wax in direct sun, and it wipes off effortlessly. You'll pay a little more for these, but you won't be disappointed. Another great all natural wax is Zymoll, but it requires more work. Klasse does contain petroleum if that is a concern. Zymoll and P21S are carnauba and bees wax based.
