Shoulder Surgery

Am having my shoulder "scoped" on next Friday, 5/3/13 to remove a bone spur . My wife and I have a camping trip planned for Charleston, SC two weeks later, leaving on the 17th. Just wondering if anybody has had this done and what the recovery time is? I about have my wife trained in setting up the Monte, but a little concerned about driving 4 hours to James Island. My doctor says that I "should be ok" to travel, but I would like to hear from people that have had it done. Thanks for any response and safe travels to all.

The best thing you could get is have your Dr order the cooler with a pump and a wrap for your shoulder. Keep the ice water flowing for pain (more of a bad ache) and you will be good to go. Or you can use bags of ice and ace wrap them on. KEEP THE ICE ON!!! I just reread your post on time frame. 2 weeks you should be good. When I tore the muscles loose front and rear, had the clavicle trimmed off, I was done with therapy and heading west for the summer in 6 weeks. Good luck
