Ozz, yes there is, the one I go to is just south of Mission. The property is owned by the city and the city police have sort of a range there, the club leases the property from the city and have both skeet and trap. It is open to the public and there is a group of Winter Texans that shoot twice a week. I didnt make it down last year due to a broken leg but will be there this year.

Bill, thanks, and I'm glad the leg is better. Now I have to see if anyone around here, will trade me out of a M1 carbine for a skeet shotgun...Sounds like a good hobby.

Hey John, bring an extra shotgun for the Ozzman. I don't think my pistol grip 12 Gage Mossberg will work too well.

All, if anyone is intereted, there used to be a place north of goshen in. that was set up for both skeet and sporting clays. I haven't been there in years but if people are interested I'll check with some of my friends (they shoot weekly) and get some current info. on what's available in the area. this may be an idea for the rally.

Mike that is a tough one, maybe borrow or rent one so I can see if I take to the sport. I would hate to spend serious $$ and find I didn't care that much for the sport.

Ozz,
Wouldn't leave home without my G19...and the concealed weapons permit.
Nice to see a post without the controversy.

What is the timeline to get your conceal permit? I have a friend who says it takes about 3 months. Is this correct?

Wow, that would depend on the speed of your local Sheriff's office and the availability of classes in your county. I would think a couple of weeks would be more in line.
I would suggest not having the CCW on your drivers license, get a separate CCW ID. Various reasons for this.

Just wondering--isn't the concealed weapon permit good only for the state in which it was issued?

Depends on the state. Our Colorado permits are good in about 26 states.
Also depends on the sherriff's department how fast they get them processed. We live in a rural area and I believe it is quicker than anywhere in the cities and suburbs. Took 2 weeks total. We didn't have to wait long for the training we had to do either.
Cost us $150.00 each for the class. And rest was the background check and processing. About $300 each total for all of it.
