Our granddaughters went fishing.....UPDATE!

Check out the link to our blog to see what Gracie and Emily caught. They are 8 and 6 years old. They had a great day fishing.

Gracie's newest catch weighs over 25 pounds! That's no typo! She caught it in the same little pond by the playground. And she will proudly announce that she is now the family leader. I guess Daddy is eating humble pie!

Wow, Judy, it looks like they DID have a good day. Bet it was a "fun catch", also. Where on earth did they catch them? Were you there with them? Tell them congratulations on catching such big and pretty fish. Sue C

Sue, Our son is an avid carp fisherman. They have their own forum! Carp are ugly but they're a lot of fun to catch. The girls are in Texas, we're in Arizona, but I'm sure we'll get a chance to fish with them soon.

Those are some really great looking fish. I have fished all my life and caught carp, but never a Koi. Those are fine looking kids, I am sure you guys are proud.

Thank you, all. I was pretty impressed with the fish and, of course, I'm a proud grandma. One funny thing about this is that the pond is by one of their large city playgrounds where the we've taken the girls to play. Never dreamt that there were fish like that in such a small pond. They catch and release so I'm sure others will be there fishing now. One of the locals came out and took their picture, too.
