Whoooo Hoooooo
Well I did it, just ordered my new TV tonight! A Chevrolet 2007 Classic 2500HD with the Duramax and Allison transmission. Now I only have to wait 6-8 weeks and sell my old tow vehicle. I was able to get a great deal so I couldn't really trade in my old truck and get anything for it.
That's the good news, the bad news is I'll have to stop camping soon because I need to sell the old TV.
In any case I'm thrilled beyond words.

J&D,
It's actually a color called Metallic Blue Granite, sort of a blue/grey that I think will look REALLY good pulling the Monty around.
Brad,
Yeah, I take really good care of my vehicles, change the oil every 3000, and it only has 87,000 which is pretty low miles these days. I hate to go through the brain damage of selling it but I know I can get another $2,500 or so by doing it myself.

MAC,
I've always had better luck with the impulse buyers seeing it on the corner with a sign than with the newspaper. Internet's not bad, but you get a lot of out of state shoppers that aren't really serious. Good luck and I'll keep my ear to ground for anyone looking.

Brad,
I've heard good things about AutoTrader but I've never used it before. We sort of have a "for sale" site on our email system at work and I can try that as well. Problem with selling it to someone at work is I'd hate to see somebody not take care of my "baby". I'm kind of weird I guess because I become pretty attached to my vehicles.
Oh and I forgot to tell you to bite your tongue, it's not time for Winter nor for hibernation! ICKY!!!

mac, with tongue in cheek, I'm very jealous! However, where are you supposed to get the fuel for the 2007 diesel fuel? Every station I've been to has a sticker on the pumps that says it is illegal to introduce this fuel into a 2007 diesel. Are they going to come out with some different kind of diesel? I like the 0% interest they are offering also, that helps offset the sticker shock a lot. I would also love to have the 6 speed Allison, I know how well my 5 speed works!

The Classic will burn any diesel fuel, it's just like an 06 but has an 07 title. Also, my truck in the photo is the blue granite metallic...kind of hard to see.
On edit...I sold my 05 on eBay, got $5k more than the dealer was going to give me. PM me if you want more details.

Cat,
I was surprised when I saw yours was the Blue Granite on that other post. I thought it looked like the dark green color. One of the reasons I went with the Blue Granite was you don't see many in that color, at least around here. I might take you up on that and PM you on the eBay thing, I've sold and purchased smaller things but a little nervous about something like a vehicle.
I'm very excited!

Steve,
The 2007 "Classic"is actually just a late model 2006 prior to the REAL 2007 changes so the diesel won't be an issue, other than price. I had made up my mind I was either going to buy one now or wait until 2008 but I wouldn't own the first model year with the changes. I have been told by several people though that the new engines have been used in Japan for quite sometime.

The only real difference between the 2006 and 2007 Classic is the 5 year 100,000 mile drive train warranty!
Congratulations Mac!!!

Thanks from everyone!!
Broome, that's pretty darned nice coming from a Ford guy. I liked that color for the same reasons, you don't see it much, plus I think it will look great with the old Montana color logos, (prior to 2007).
Clyde, wrote ya back.
