Recliner out, freezer in
Decided we needed more K.C. Steaks while in Texas, so we put a freezer in. Now we have a small reefer/freezer, the Montana combo and a chest freezer. Will have the chest freezer full of colossal Shrimp in the Spring...

So do you sit on the freezer when in the monta or on the other chair and tell the dw to sit on the floor , won't work in this house , don't buy so much at a time and have a chair john

Ok boys, I have another chair and a reclining love seat for two, plus the desk chairs, so Ozz and Sue do have somewhere to sit...
No, no joke, we spend 6 month's down there on the Island, and needed more freezer space for steaks, hamburgler, ice cream, Ice and whatever..so, I got a freezer. We like to bring the inexpensive sea food home in the Spring, so it will be loaded up for the return trip up home.

How do you keep the freezer running while traveling? We have thought of putting one "somewhere" in here, but worry about it defrosting while we travel.

Carol
Don't have one, but if that baby is COLD when you start in the AM, it is fairly full of food, you run 8 to 10 hours and DO NOT OPEN IT, and it is not 200 degrees inside the unit
It will not thaw enough to even notice.
Our freezer/frig in Tana, we have been running with it off, even on hot days, and no noticeable thawing, no warm food. And, I would be that this kind of freezer has much better insulation, and the back end is not sticking out in the weather like our RV frigs.

Well said, Carol. Carol and Chuck, yes we debated about the location, and as you can see, some do not approve, but you know it is my unit, I bought it, and if I want to leave a chair out....I can. If I want to sit on top of the freezer.....I will.
So there.

Ozz,
Sorry if we may have offended you. We thought you might be joking. We don't disapprove at all! Like you said it your unit! If it serves your purposes it's a good thing. That's what makes us all so interesting. We can personalize our units to suit us. Enjoy and pay no attention to what anyone else says!

I was wondering if maybe one would fit under our desk. It would be for the "overflow" from the ref. freezer. Of course then I would need a new place for the litter box.
I've already taken two of the dining chairs out. Maybe a recliner could go too. They are "bit***'s to move anyway.
Decisions -- decisions---gotta stop reading your posts.

You know...this is a temporary solution for Ozz...he has been down there already - he knows what he needs to make things work for his trip.
Load up with steaks going down, and load up with seafood going back.
We can all learn from someone that's 'been there- done that'...should I find myself fortunate enough to be in that position, I would likely try to do that same...

Thawing out is not a problem. The temp inside the freezer will be zero degrees and after 8 or 10 hours of travel with no power to the freezer it may get up to + 4 degrees.
Our freezer is in the same place as Ozz's..(I have been waiting to say this)..We have one...we love it...and would not be without one......
