How to lube Antanea

Ok how do you grease the ant. we have a 2011 3455 model. The up and down crank says to grease twicw a year but I don't see any grease fittings, so that is why the question.

Thanks ahead of time

Now I've heard of everything - grease the antenna? Maybe I'll stick to never using it. On rare occasions I'll use it if I am too tired or slow to set up the Dish Network. We never get too much anyway but that might be because we don't have a digital decoder.

I'm gonna have to go and check my crank now and see if it says anything. Ya learn sum-pin' noo ever' day.

Well looky dat.... it does need maintenance.

Just like it says in diesel guy's post, that's the exact manual I have. On page 4 starting at the top of the second column, there it is! Silicone lubricant spray is used at the locations shown and described.

I just lubed mine and it made a huge difference. This will require getting up on the roof. Take any silicon lube spray and with the antanna down you can see the gears (at least on mine I could). Apply the lubricant generously on the gear and then crank it up and down a couple of times. I hope your setup is like mine because it was a very easy and worthwhile task.

My antenna has a small rubber cap on the base which can be removed so that lubricant can be applied to the rotator plate. They will stick if the gear and/or base plate dry out.
