Hot Water Heater
We had a power surge the other night but our WatchDog handled it and we were up and running again in no time. Until we went to take showers and discovered our hot water heater was not working. It had been set on electric at the time of the outage. We switched it to propane and it heats up great. We can't figure out why it won't heat on electric. I searched for suggestions to help but only found the suggestion to replace the thermostat. Any other ideas? Thanks for any help!

Yes. We checked that and fuses. We are at a completely different park now and it still does not work on electric, just gas.

Best thing to do is use a voltmeter to find the problem rather than just guessing at it.

There is a PDF in the Files Section on diagnosing Suburban water jeater problems.
https://www.montanaowners.com/forums...?do=file&id=90
I would start there.

Thanks for the suggestions. We found a fried wire. Luckily our fellow campers helped us figure it out!

Curious which wire. There have been several different burned ones posted over the years.

I bet it is the one out of the black switch in the lower left corner.

That’s the most common it seems. But I am going with the thermostat/hi temp cutout just to be a contrarian. That leaves the junction box.
