Big Sky Package

Does anyone have the Big Sky Package on their Montana and are they satisfied with it?

I don't know what the "Big Sky Package" is. I have a Big Sky with which I am very happy. There are many Big Sky owners on the forum.

Stiles,
I believe they stopped making the Big Sky and now add the package to the Montana.
You can check it out here http://keystone-montana.com/index.ph...=bigskypackage

The Big Sky package includes a 6 point automatic leveling system, full body paint, a curved shower enclosure and G rated tires. We don't have it.

We have real Big Sky, not the package, and love it. That being said, with what is on the new package version, if we were in the market for a new rig, I would opt for the package based on the full paint and the leveling system alone!

Eight out of the eleven floorplans for the Montana now can be had with the Big Sky Package! If I was in the market for one, I'd definately go for the Big Sky Package. Might be a few dollars more but very nice additions to your unit! Think Keystone will throw it in if I keep promoting it?

Ya but Pam, your's IS a TRUE Big Sky! The new ones are regular packages but with upgraded Big Sky Packages which includes a little more than yours did! That lift system is one of the additions1 We saw it at the Fall Rally last year but they were having problems with it when we went through! Oops! I think they have them ironed out now!

I agree. With the full body paint and level-up system, if that package was available when we bought ours, we would have opted for it. I don't think they even offer it for the model we chose though.

Dave and Celeste-- You are correct! They do not offer the Big Sky Package for the 3150 floor plan. Why? I have no idea only Keystone can tell us! Enjoy the 3150!

A Big Sky has always been a Montana. It has always been an upgraded version. The new Montanas now have all of the former Big Sky features (crown molding, upgraded carpet and padding, pendant lights in the kitchen, etc.). It's kind of like going back to the future. Originally it was a "Big Sky Montana". Then more effort was made to seperate the Big Sky brand to stand apart on its own. Now they are going back to the Big Sky being a Big Sky Montana. With the new options these new Big Sky Montanas will be the nicest fivers Keystone has ever made. I look forward to seeing the proud owners of one soon. They definitely know how to tempt folks. Darn it!!!!!!!!!!

We recently ordered and picked up our new Montana with the Big Sky upgrade. We really like the upgrades. The full paint and the level up system are worth the extra. We are very happy with ours.

Looks like the full paint now includes the lower front panels and the slide ends are no longer all white. Much better, although it would be nice if those slide ends were the same color as the front panel. Still, big improvement. Good looking rig.

I agree with Steve on the full paint job. It would have been nice if they just continued the paint job on the slide ends but the darker color is still better than the plain white we all have on our units when the slides are out. It's still a great looking unit!
Charlie and Judy-- Why don't you come on down to the Central Plains Regional Rally to be held here in Nebraska in July? You could show us your new unit and we could all druel over all the new stuff on it! You could also enjoy some great Nebraska hospitality along with meeting some great MOC members too!

At the recent Spring Rally, Charles Wade (the west coast Keystone representative) explained they have tried and tried to paint the slide end panels. And no matter what they tried, they scratch after 5-10 retractions. He claims the scratching is because they use a different slide/sealing mechanism than the motor homes with painted slides. That is the company line and he is sticking to it. Montana is using a black plastic material for the sidewalls on the Big Sky and it seems to blend with the (one) paint scheme I saw. It is better looking than the white panels IMHO.

Hmmm, if plastic panels can be impregnated with a black or white pigment, why not with the body color? Just curious. It would mean stocking more colors of panels ($$) and lower volume for each ($$$ on lower volume purchase cost) so maybe that's it.

Steve, I think you hit the nail on the head. There are other brand 5th wheel units out there that are painted and don't have a problem.

Just took delivery of our new 3580RL with the "Moving to Montana Package" the "Hickory Edition Package" and the "Big Sky Package". The main reason we went for the "Big Sky Package" was for the Lippet 6 Point Leveling System but the full body paint realy made us fall in love with it. The radius shower and "G" rated tires and wheels also made it all worth while. All my family and friends are stopping by to look at the new rig and can not believe how nice it is on the inside and the looks of the full body paint. I can not wait for our first trip on the road and the questions and looks we will get at a RV park.
