Fiver Shopping! Help Me!!

I am debating the purchase of a new 2007 Montana model 3075.
The dealer is discounting the leftover model and with the factory rebate the unit is tempting us. We also like the model 2980 as well.
Out current trailer and previous 5er were Keystones and have been satisfied. I am kinda concerned about Montana owners reporting axel/frame problems.

Any advice is really appreciated.

Our understanding from things discussed at Fall Rally is that a lot of the axle and frame situations have been addressed by switching vendors and re-engineering of the frame, etc. etc.etc.

Buy the floor plan that turns your head and feels like home!

ENJOY! welcome to the forum!!

Check the pricing on the 2008 model with other dealers...my bet would be that the new one will be discounted nearly as much as the older model.

The price is quoted is 38K.

This is on the West Coast - so shipping costs are higher.

Flash I just purchased a discounted 2007. I went through the 2008 before I purchased the discounted unit. There isn't enough upgraded items to justify paying $10,000 more for a number on a piece of paper. My unit has all the bells and whistles of 2008 just a different year on paper. I say take the rebate and the huge discount if it is the floor plan you like. If it is not the floor plan you just love then wait. The right one will come along at the right time and you will know when its time.
GOOD LUCK!
Phil

The "frame flex " problem has been corrected and in general does not apply to the newer Montana's although anything can happen. Not sure what axle problems you refer to. Remember we report mostly problems and how to correct them. There have been axles out of alignment but I don't think all that many. I can tell you that We have not had a frame or axle problem on our 06 3400 after @12K+ miles of hard pulling. Take your time and do your homework before you purchase. As you learn more about the forum you will understand that we are not shy about reporting any problem no matter how large or small it may be along with how we addressed the fix. That is, in part, what we are all about.

Take the floor plan you like and you will be satisfied. We have the 2980 and it is great for us. As said above, the problems that you refer to seem to have been addressed and corrected. Welcome to the forum.
