Allowing a 10 year old to drive regardless where he lives is not the norm. Most children of that age can hardly see over the steering wheel much less be experienced enough to handle a SUV in any kind of crisis. You were very right to express your feelings to the owner. Glad that you enjoyed the Texas Hill Country except for this incident.
