Outside shower valve hose connection broken

The snap ring on the hose connection came off the outside shower. The hose cannot be connected. Can just this quick connect be replaced or does the whole valve assembly need to be replaced? Anyone have any experience with this?

Nope, on all three of our units, once that connection was made it's never been disconnected.

I'm not being clear. The metal quick connect/disconnect port between the hot and cold water knobs has broken. The piece you push in on, to allow the insertion of the hose, came off along with snap ring which is supposed to keep it in place. So now the QC/QD has no way of keeping the hose in place.

In my search online for replacement parts I only find the entire assembly.
?? Can only the QC/QD be replaced? I'm not opposed to that but if the QC/QD can be replaced by itself it would mean not having to take the bulk head apart to get to the valve.

Thanks.

I never had a problem with mine. But from your picture it appears that piece just screws onto the center pipe stub. Looks easily replaceable but may be hard to find a part number for that fitting.

Looks like this one. Maybe buy whole thing and remove the fitting.

It is a standard plumbing connection on the back and if you use your shower a lot then I would suggest just hooking it up without the quick disconnect they are problematic for water connections it’s 1/2 standard pipe thread just be careful not to cross thread the plastic part coming out of the faucet

I was unable to just replace this part, I bought the whole fixture for about $20 and now I have repair parts for everything else.

it's basically an air hose quick disconnect. You should be able to find one and replace just that part.
Similar to this:

Take your hose to Harbor Freight or Tractor Supply and match the connection up with one they have.
