2009 NE Rally Pot-luck Supper

2009 NE Rally Pot-luck Supper

When - Friday 5/29/2009
Time - 5:00 PM
Where - Pavilion in the rally area

Well folks it’s time to start the planning and coordination for Saturday night Pot-luck Supper.

The rally goal for this year (as stated by our wagon master) is a no/low cost rally with the focus being a social event. Thus, we ask each of you to bring your own dinnerware (e.g. eating utensils, plates, cup, napkins, etc.) and drink. Note - we will have coffee (regular and decaffeinated) and hot water for tea.

Please sign up (by posting to this topic) to bring a favorite dish that can feed this hungry group. I will consolidate your contribution into the following sign up list.

We need a variety of hot dishes, casseroles, salads and desserts. Serving utensils to accompany each dish would be appreciated. I will put out another post shortly for additional items needed to support the supper.

Sign-up List:

1 Steves – Betty’s Chicken Casserole
2 NCFishers - Vickie's Macaroni Salad
3 fmsunoco - Crockpot Italian Meatballs & Sausage
4 Glenn & Lorraine - Fried Chicken
5 H.John Kohl - Pasta Dish
6 Mail2us - Baked Ziti
7 Jay Bird - Potato Salad
8 Bullroc3 - Tossed salad and a dessert
9 Sam n Sam - Spiral Ham
10 Capn Chris - deciding what to bring

Note===I did check with all the cooks and did find out that ALL dishes being served are FAT FREE AND SUGAR FREE! So bring your appetites and enjoy without that guilty conscience.

This is our first rally and have no idea how much to make/bring. Do you make enough for 50 people or do you make a family size serving? Please reply............Thanks, Connie

From personal experience, I would say bring a family-sized serving. Otherwise there will be way too much food. Most people take a dab of whatever appeals to them. Some people will bring a crockpot of something, others will bring a casserole dish that would normally feed 6 or 8. Remember there will be lots of food and some duplicates. We have never run out and many will take dishes home still half-full.

We'll bring rolls/bread and butter and a couple of desserts. Right now I'm leaning toward a chocolate cream and a pineapple angle food.

Does anybody have any food allergies we should know about?
