We have the rotochoks and we just used our JT Stabilizers for the first time this holiday - WOW!

We had 8 people in and out of our rig for 4 days, and you could barely tell they were there. Key places I noticed were no movement felt while in the bathroom, going up the steps at the door, and couldn't feel any activity in the living room while upstairs in the bedroom. I didn't even have the pin tripod installed, as the slope on the pad was too low and the tripod wouldn't fit.

Both the rotochoks and JTs are super easy to use and set up. Need to follow directions on the JTs and put stress on the front and rear with the landing gear to lock them down tight.

None of these are must haves, rather they are luxuries. However, from my experience they work as advertised should you decide to invest in them.

Will the scissor jacks work almost as well as the JT stabilizers? I want to eliminate most of the side to side, know you can't get rid of it all, don't want to spend $400.00 on it if I don't have to but will if there is reallt a lot of difference between the two. We are boat people too so it doesn't bother me as much as some.

I don't have the JT's but do have the scissor jacks. I think the answer to your question is "no." The scissor jacks remove the bounce up and down when someone walks. Pretty much entirely. But they don't do much for the horizontal movement. The JT's should address that horizontal movement. I'm not sure the JT's will help with the bounce but since we don't have them I don't know that for sure. The scissor jacks are available at Camping World. They come with self tapping screws that work very well. We've used these jacks on two Montanas. When I removed them from the last one, those screws had not budged.

Mike,

Ironically, JTs Tech Rep recommends replacing the BAL telescoping jacks with scissor jacks for the ultimate firmness. He says there is too much flex in the telescoping jacks. Scissor jacks to stop the bounce and JTs to stop the side movement (mostly a result of tire sidewalls) are considered the premium according to them.

I ordered the scissors today. It is more bounce. Glad I didn't screw up! $70 sounds better than $400 right now. It really isn't that bad, it isn't a stick house. Thanks to all!
